Amir is a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Lila Davachi at Columbia University. He studies how we implicitly learn regularities in our environment, and what conditions and neural mechanisms enable updating memories that are formed this way. Formerly, As a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Liad Mudrik at Tel Aviv University, Amir studied whether unconscious information can overcome conflicting conscious knowledge. He completed his PhD with Prof. Moshe Bar at Bar Ilan University studying implicit statistical learning. Amir holds an MSc in neuroscience and a BSc in Computer Science and Philosophy. He worked with Prof. Oded Maimon for an EU data mining project, and has since shared Oded’s love for soft answers to hard questions.
